Privacy Policy

Plop ("we", "us") is a dog health journal that helps you log your dog's bowel movements and outings. We built Plop to be private by default. This policy explains what information the app handles and how.

Our core principle

Plop works fully offline. By default, everything you log — dogs, entries, notes, ratings, photos, and locations — is stored only on your device. We do not require an account to use the app, and we never sell your data or use it for advertising.

Information you create in the app

You may choose to add:

• Entry details — consistency, color, rating, notes, and the date/time of an entry.
• Photos — pictures you attach to an entry, taken with your camera or chosen from your photo library.
• Location — the coordinates and place name where an entry happened, so it can appear on your map. Location is optional and requested only when you add it; the app works if you deny access.
• Dog profiles — a name, breed, and photo for each dog.

Optional cloud backup

If you turn on cloud backup (Settings → "Back Up My Data"), your entries, dogs, and photos are securely copied to our backend provider, Supabase, so you can restore them on a new device.

• To enable backup we ask for your email address and send a secure sign-in link. Your email is used only to identify your account and let you sign in — never for marketing.
• Your backed-up data is protected by per-user access rules so that only your account can read it. Photos are stored in a private bucket.
• Backup is off by default. If you never enable it, no data leaves your device through Plop.

Service providers

When cloud backup is enabled, we rely on Supabase (for secure database, authentication, and file storage) to host your backed-up data on our behalf. Map display and place names are provided by your device's map service (Apple Maps on iOS). We do not use third-party advertising or analytics/tracking SDKs.

How your information is used

Information is used solely to:

• Provide the app's features (logging, the map, statistics, gallery).
• Back up and restore your data across devices, if you opt in.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for their own purposes.

Deleting your data

• Clear All Entries (Settings) removes your logs and their photos.
• Delete Account (available when backup is on) removes your backed-up data from our servers, and lets you also erase the data on your device.
• Deleting the app removes all locally stored data from that device.

Children

Plop is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the date above and post the new version at this URL.
